Mexico Dream:Oaxaca episode1

In Mexico City, more than 50% of travel expenses already ran out. Hotel bill is not enough cheap also at a restaurant we spent $20 per person every meal.(Even though we ate like a king) So it makes no difference what I spend money in NY and here. Too expensive than I expected. How do I stay the next ten days? Finally after first four days in Mexico city we decided to move to Oaxaca. 6hours by bus all the way south. Cross finger to be more warm and little cheaper. Our hotel was just center of the town and looks like a18 century room. High ceiling, little balcony with luxury heavy curtain and elegant bathroom. So beautiful and luxury and only half price of Mexico city one. Also weather was just like a summer! I've been so worry since I worn same outfit everyday in Mexico city what if I don't have any chance to wear summer clothes. haha. All the street are surrounded by colorful wall and houses, easily to see a pastel-colored old Volkswagen,, This is exactly what I imagined Mexico. In the night, young people gathered in the main square and enjoy their Friday night. Traditional music performer Mariachi plays old folk songs to grandma tourist at outside of cafe. Oaxaca is really romantic and beautiful city. I remember reading article about sex satisfied ranking in the world. According to this magazine No1.sex satisfaction traced the country is Mexico! Sure enough! They are kissing lovers everywhere and so much easier to see. It just like a human magnet. They keep stick together over10min. lol  I felt the power of love here in Mexico. Oaxaca's trade mark are hot chocolate and Mezcal(flow of tequila). Especially the hot chocolate served with big ball bread taste is delicious!! Oaxaca~So far so good~

I love their bowl!

Mexico dream:Mexico City episode2

To see the pyramid Teotihuacan which is located half an hour away from Mexico city we joined a small group of people by travel agency. Before go to main ruins of course they brought us to tequila factory and stone/ jewelery shops something like that and finally we arrived pyramid 2pm. Without any shadow, under the crazy strong sunlight climbing up pyramid was so much work also few shots of tequila made me loosen up more. It seems like everybody feel same and when we arrived in the huge buffet restaurant at 3:30pm I almost run to table and ready to eat whatever it is. In front of the door big cars packed with tourist and price was $23 per person which is ridiculously expensive compared to regular rate. Even though I almost almost couldn't control my body. "STOP"!! He woke me up. Please try not to go tourist place even we are part of tourist people though. He persuade me to find more local place to eat. He asked to driver where we can go and luckily he pointed out authentic one near by. Very quiet and couldn't recognized it's someone's home or restaurant until one grandma came out and very nicely host us. Of course the price wasn't cheap but can eat authentic local style food was so happy. Specifically the first tasting cactus salad! Wow.. the smoothie gelatin texture with little bit of salty taste was very interesting. Main dish pork chop with black mole(Negro mole)was good. Beer, fruit juice, cactus dessert. We had eaten it out all then we recognized our van is waiting for us in front of restaurant. Sorry Sorry~~ I can tell that was beautiful full course meal ever!

Mexico dream: Mexico City(DF) episod1

Now I got a time to write about travels in Mexico in mid-February I went to. Just went there about two months ago but I can't really remember clearly. Before lose my memories I want to fresh them up.
Aero Mexico is the only flight to depart at midnight. First idea that we took this flight was for saving day time, and he wanted to take a picture in the morning time in Mexico. However when we arrived in DF(Mexico city)at 5AM I already felt it was definitely wrong idea. The hotel check-in is of course not available so we left luggage to lobby and went out to find a place to eat breakfast in this darkness nocturnal night/morning. How can you talk about Mexico city in the morning.lol.. No one on the street, not even store to open..Moreover, what a cold weather!!! I packed full of summer clothes but weather is no difference than New York. jeeeez… We drove a tired body out around for two hours and finally start the sunrise at 7:30AM. Now I can see people start to move busy to open market. Yay! I love authentic style market!! Later on I knew this small market is located near by a big hospital and people make a long line to get in. That's why this market was so crowded even it's so early. There is really great taco stand and they present amazing looking tacos. Taco with grilled peppers topped with eggs and cheese, all different kind of grilled vegetables and put them in the various chilies. In addition many kinds of salsa are crazy! Oh,, so happy.. Probably It's more delicious because we walked so much in the darkness? Boohoo~~~

7AM to start the sunrise in Mexico city.

Rice and cheese mixed inside of grilled pepper and topped with fresh vegetable and salsa.

I love grilled scallion.

GoGo DimSum@Chinatown, NYC

In March was like mid-summer and now late April, it's so cold weather like a winter. How long should I wait to see a spring! Jeeez...then finally today is sunny weather to go out. Without any second thought I directly went to Chinatown. I think the purpose of going Chinatown today was  buying a seafood for Paella as usual but weather was too good. After jumped out from a station I ran to one dollar egg cake vendor called "yummy cake" in the Grand street. The Chinese grandpa baked 40pcs tiny bean size cake at a time by only one pan. It seems like he baked dollars on the pan every single minute. Eating yummy cake with black bubble milk tea is always perfect to start Chinatown tour. Like a tourist I looked around all street vendor through little Italy to East Broadway. So hot outside and I felt little tired. I realized it's already 3pm and I am hungry. Where to eat? "Go Go dim sum"??. Neat and moderately large size restaurant. Not my favorite style though I saw a few magazine posters "Best dim sum,,bla bla" and zagat stickers in the window. Seems like many people crazy love this place and I also want to know how great it is. No wonder the restaurant name is "gogo dim sum" it's because they have so many different dim sum menu that I never seen before. Even they serve 10 different vegetable dim sum.  Ok, Let's rock the dim sum! I ordered shrimp dim sum, crab dim sum, mushroom dim sum, shrimp with mango fried roll. WoW~~ I can't describe which one was best or worse. Everything was just so~~good. Combination of ingredient and hand cut pot sticker but also the presentation were super delicate. Taste was very clean and fine. I felt like I haven't had this kind of fancy taste so long. Some Japanese cheap restaurant in the East Village serve instant frozen shrimp dim sum for $6 but here you can have artisan creative dim sum only for $4. Except for employee's little unkind attitude It was very satisfied meal. If you are dumpling maniac, strongly recommend it!
